Ever thought what makes me happy... ..

We are all running in a race. A rat race. And all that we know is that we have to win. And we know it because we are taught that from the childhood. What is the meaning of this victory? For most if not all of us, it is to be well educated to get a good job to be in a relationship with someone who enhances your brand equity; basically to make and look everything comfortable. But is looking comfortable the same as being comfortable? And when we achieve what we were taught to believe to be our goal; we still for some unknown reason find our selves unhappy, uncomfortable amongst all the comforts, lonely amidst the crowd. Ever thought why this happens to us. Why we are unhappy even though all we seek is happiness. The reason being that we try to seek from outside, we try to learn our definition of our happiness, our goals, our desires from others. The reason being we are scarred to ask ourselves. We are afraid if we talk to our hearts for we might listen to a voice that speaks sonorous but it talks of a different goal a different aspiration a different dream then what this world teaches us to believe. It is simply so convenient to be like everyone else that it really is difficult to be like ourselves. Our strategy is social acceptance approval from others, a look of surprise on our friend's face enviously admiring our material possessions. It really becomes a fight between us and I. And the lesser mortals that we are, we all choose others over ourselves. And the quest for happiness is happily sacrificed on the road to nowhere for that is the direction all the rats run and seeing all the rats around we believe we are meant to be one like them. On the altars of success lies a livid heart yearning to live, thinking if that is how he wanted to live.
